And yet, despite its harsh conditions, Ladakh is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna. From the majestic snow leopard to the humble yak, from the rare apricot to the ubiquitous barley, Ladakh's flora and fauna have adapted to survive in this extreme environment. For visitors, Ladakh is a land of adventure, a place to trek in the high mountains, raft down raging rivers, or simply explore the ancient Buddhist culture that has flourished here for centuries. Whatever your reason for coming to Ladakh, you will be sure to find it a truly unique and unforgettable experience.Ladakh is also the ideal mysterious land of the lakes, with the presence of numerous well-known lakes providing for a more creative and relaxing visit by spending a few moments beside it. Places to visit in Leh Ladhak:

The months of April through May are a good time to visit Ladakh, as many of the tourist attractions would be open. June through August months are also popular among trekkers because they are less crowded than other seasons. Because Ladakh's elevation is so high, it has long winters. The following are some of the locations to see in Ladakh.Pangong Lake: Pangong Lake, the most popular touristic destination in Ladakh, is an endorheic (landlocked) lake that sits at 4350 meters above sea level. It is also known as Pangong Tso and measures 12 kilometers in length and stretches from India to Tibet. Almost 60% of Pangong Lake lies within the Tibetan Autonomous Region, making it unique. The lake's distinctiveness stems from its ability to change hue from blue to light blue to green and grey over the course of a year! It is common among tourists to refer to it as Ladakh Lake, where the Bollywood film 3 Idiots was filmed.Sangam: The confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers in Ladakh is known as Sangam. The two waterways may be seen coming together at this spot, with the Indus River exhibiting a brilliant blue shine and the Zanskar River appearing dark green.Khardung La: At an elevation of 5602 meters, Khardung La is one of the highest motorable roads in India and serves as a gateway to the Shyok and Nubra Valleys. To enter, you'll need an inner line permit. It is closed from October through May because it is too cold or snowy during this time frame.Hemis National Park: Have you ever seen a snow leopard? The Hemis National Park in Ladakh is regarded as the capital of India's Snow Leopard. Aside from housing the renowned snow leopard, this national park is also the only one located in the northern portions of the Himalayas.Royal Leh PalaceThe Leh Palace: The Leh Palace is on the top of Tsemo Hill and has a long history. The 9-story castle, which was constructed of stones, wood, mud, and sand, contains some beautiful artistic ruins for tourists to enjoy how the royals lived. The magnificent structure is also a must-see for visitors.
